Signature at Hendon hall is celebrating the life and passing of Bobby Moore who will always be remembered as the Captain of England’s first and only World Cup win. Before Hendon Hall was rebuilt as a Signature Care Home, it was named Hendon Hall Hotel where, during the World Cup of 1966, Bobby Moore and the England football team stayed. During his career he also played at West Ham United for 16 years. His legacy is known by residents and this historical win is honoured and celebrated by many in the UK. Even though he passed away in 1993 due to bowel cancer at the age of 51, Bobby Moore will never be forgotten and Signature will honour his legacy and his years of victory for a sport well-loved across Britain itself.

Signature at Hendon Hall are going to dedicate an area of Bar 66, their pub, to Bobby Moore, with a plaque to commemorate him. They plan to invite his family to launch “Captain’s Corner” and receive a cheque for donation.  Hendon’s Maintenance Manager is also the coach for Bushey Football Club girls team. Their strip is sponsored by Signature at Hendon Hall, with their logo on the strip and they hope to present the cheque to Bobby Moore’s family in person.

The house he grew up in is now adorned with an English Heritage blue plaque, the first footballer to be commemorated in this way. In 2007 his services to English football were recognised further when a statue of Moore was unveiled outside the new Wembley Stadium.
