Designed for Two
Every apartment at Signature is designed as a personal retreat within the wider life of the home. Our one and two bedroom apartments are perfect for couples, providing space to be together while still enjoying areas to relax, entertain, or personalise with your own furniture and belongings. Deluxe layouts offer even more room for couples who want extra space for comfort or cherished possessions. Studio apartments are ideal for those seeking a cosy, open-plan space with a kitchenette and, in many cases, a balcony or patio to enjoy fresh air together.
Gordon & Joan’s Story: Staying Together After 70 Years
Gordon (96) and Joan (98) have been married for more than 70 years. In 2024, they moved into a one-bedroom apartment at Signature, where they continue to live side by side, just as they always have.
While moving into care was a big change after many years living at home, they quickly made their apartment their own. Gordon and Joan describe it as their “little home from home”, a place where they can still enjoy everyday routines together.
One of the reasons they chose Signature was to be closer to family. Their youngest daughter now lives nearby, making visits much easier and more frequent than before. When family come to see them, Gordon and Joan love being able to welcome them into their apartment and make them a cup of tea, just like they always have.
Having a care team on hand to help with things like medication also gives them reassurance and peace of mind, while still allowing them to maintain their independence.
They particularly enjoy spending time walking in the gardens, sitting outside in the fresh air and sunshine, and simply enjoying each other’s company.
For Gordon and Joan, living in a one-bedroom apartment was essential, after more than seven decades together, they couldn’t imagine being apart. At Signature, they’ve found a place where they can continue their life together, with the comfort, support, and community around them.

Beryl and John chose to move into Signature together, knowing it was the right step after many years in their own home. Like many couples, they felt nervous at first but the warm welcome they received quickly helped them settle in and feel at home.
Since moving in, daily life has become much easier and far less stressful. With meals and household tasks taken care of, they’re able to spend more time simply enjoying each other’s company. The worries they once felt, especially at night or when one of them wasn’t feeling well have been replaced with reassurance, knowing support is always available if needed.
Living at Signature has given them the freedom to focus on what matters most: being together. They now have more time to relax, connect and enjoy life side by side.

“My mother has been at Coombe Hill Manor for a year. She has quite severe dementia. The staff at Coombe are extremely patient and kind. My mum is always treated with dignity and sensitivity. Since my sister has been in Signature she has been treated with kindness and compassion by everyone at the home. I cannot praise the staff too highly as they do their work efficiently and always with a smile. She needs a great deal of care but nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend Coombe Hill Manor more highly. The staff are so kind, patient, and caring and always available to chat about any concerns we might have. They helped us so much with the actual move, keeping us fully updated on how she was settling. All her needs are met and she is treated with dignity and respect even when her behaviour is challenging.
She is settling well and enjoying the many stimulating activities provided. My family and I could not be happier with our choice of home.

What types of care do you offer?

Can couples or close companions live together?
Larger and deluxe apartments are designed for couples or companions who wish to share their lives in comfort. These layouts provide generous private space while keeping shared facilities and community areas close at hand.
Apartment types and availability can vary between our homes, so we recommend enquiring at your preferred location to explore the options available for couples.
What types of apartments are available?
Signature offers a choice of studio, one-bedroom and deluxe apartments. Each includes an en-suite bathroom and refined finishes, with features such as kitchenettes, balconies or patios depending on the apartment chosen. Signature at Banstead, Signature at Coombe Hill Manor and Signature at Weybridge also have two-bedroom apartments.
Can residents bring their own furniture?
Yes. Residents are encouraged to bring treasured furniture and belongings. Move-in coordinators work with friends, families or loved ones to arrange personal items or source new pieces, so every apartment feels familiar and individual from the start. We can also arrange the purchase of a furniture package upon request.
Are there apartments designed for residents living with dementia?
Yes. Signature provides purpose-built dementia apartments with calm layouts, clear cues and support in place of kitchen facilities. These apartments carry the same high-quality finishes and safety features as all other homes.
Do you allow pets?
Yes, pets are welcome in many of our homes. Some residents enjoy the companionship of their own dog or cat living with them, helping to maintain familiar routines and the comfort of having a much-loved companion close by.
Pets are considered on a case by case basis and approval is at the discretion of the General Manager of each home. This helps ensure the wellbeing of all residents and takes into account any other pets already living within the home.
How is safety and support managed within the apartments?
Yes. All our homes meet UK regulatory standards and are regularly inspected by the CQC. We uphold rigorous safety, staffing and quality benchmarks across every home.
