Starting a new chapter in life can feel daunting: whether it’s beginning a new role, moving home or embracing a change in circumstances, uncertainty often comes hand in hand with opportunity.
It’s a sentiment that resonates with Ana-Maria Cormos, who joined Signature at Reigate Grange as General Manager in the summer of 2026. As someone who is new to both the home and the wider Signature family, Ana understands first-hand the mix of excitement and anticipation that can come with embarking on a new journey.
“It has been a really exciting time for me,” says Ana. “I’ve joined a wonderful home with a fantastic team and a warm, welcoming community.”
The idea of ‘embracing new beginnings’ is something that sits at the heart of Ana’s vision for Signature at Reigate Grange. It is also a message she shares with prospective residents and their families who may be considering care for the first time.
Seeing Care as the Start of a New Chapter
For many people, moving into a care home can feel like a difficult decision. It often follows a period of change and can understandably bring concerns about leaving behind familiar surroundings, routines and independence.
Ana believes it is important to look at things differently.
“Moving into a care home isn’t about giving things up,” she explains. “It’s about gaining support, companionship and opportunities that allow you to continue enjoying life in the way that matters most to you.”
At Signature at Reigate Grange, every resident is treated as an individual from the moment they arrive. The team takes time to understand their life story, interests, routines and preferences, ensuring that care is tailored around the person rather than expecting the person to fit around the service.
“It’s their home,” says Ana. “We want people to continue living the life they choose, with the reassurance that support is there whenever they need it.”
Building Confidence Through Familiarity
One of the most important parts of helping residents settle into a new environment is preserving the things that make them feel most like themselves.
Whether it’s enjoying breakfast at a particular time, continuing hobbies, maintaining family traditions or simply following a familiar daily routine, the team works hard to ensure those preferences remain part of everyday life.
By taking the time to truly get to know each resident, the team creates an environment where people can quickly feel comfortable, valued and at home.
New Friendships, Experiences and Opportunities
While moving into care involves change, Ana believes it also opens the door to exciting new possibilities.
Life at Signature at Reigate Grange is filled with opportunities to socialise, pursue interests and discover new experiences. Residents can spend time with like-minded people, take part in a variety of activities and build meaningful friendships within the community.
“One of the lovely things about living in a care home is the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life,” says Ana. “Everyone has a unique story to tell, and those connections can lead to wonderful friendships.”
For Ana, creating those opportunities is just as important as delivering excellent care.
She is particularly passionate about helping residents continue pursuing their interests and ambitions, regardless of age.
“Growing older shouldn’t mean stopping the things you enjoy,” she says. “There should always be something to look forward to.”
A Fresh Perspective for the Future
Having only recently joined Signature, Ana is excited about the future and the opportunity to build on the strong foundations already in place at Signature at Reigate Grange.
While she has been impressed by the dedication of the team and the welcoming atmosphere within the home, she is also keen to introduce new ideas that further enhance residents’ experiences and strengthen connections with the local community.
“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to join such a supportive team,” she says. “They genuinely care about our residents and go above and beyond every day. My role is to build on that success, listen to what residents and families want and continue finding ways to make life at Reigate Grange even better.”
From creating memorable experiences and developing community partnerships to helping residents fulfil lifelong wishes and ambitions, Ana’s focus is also on the future.
A Place Where New Chapters Begin
“My goal is simple,” says Ana-Maria. “I want Signature at Reigate Grange to be a place where people feel happy, valued and inspired every day. A place where residents can continue being themselves, surrounded by people who genuinely care.”
Because at Reigate Grange, a move into care isn’t the end of a story. It’s the beginning of a new chapter: one filled with exciting possibility.
