Laura Hulett

General Manager

My career in care started in 2009 after graduating from University with a Psychology degree, and I have been a manager of residential and nursing homes since 2013.

I am passionate about enabling residents to continue to live their lives as they did in their own homes. I also love being involved in the day-to-day running of a home, working alongside the team and getting to know our residents and their families.

I joined Signature in March 2021, attracted to the ethos of care, and how our residents are encouraged to maintain the lifestyle they wish to lead. We have a real focus on resident well-being, with each resident enjoying a personalised level of care within a beautiful, well-kept home.

Janet Alibaya

Deputy manager

I have worked in the care industry for over 15 years looking after elderly residents here in the UK. With my background in nursing, I can use my knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional person centred care to our residents. I had switched my career from the busy A&E department to a calmer and more engaging environment which is working in the care home. I worked at other Signature Homes for over 7 years before transferring to Signature at Caversham. Over the years I have developed my expertise and working in collaboration to all heads of departments making sure the highest standard of care is given to our residents. My leadership skills were also developed with my General Manager as my mentor. My career development over the years has given me management experience, managing large teams of people, my ability to manage priorities such as strong planning and putting actions in place with the help of the whole team. During this time, I have also developed better communication and interpersonal skills. With all my experience, knowledge, and skills I was given the opportunity to step up as a Deputy Manager at Signature at Caversham.
I will make sure to continue to work hand in hand with all the heads of department to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to each resident and to be engaged with their families to make sure all their queries and concerns are promptly addressed. I am looking forward to working with new heads of department who are compassionate about care and believed the same vision as I am making a difference in the lives of our residents.

Client Liaison Manager

Karen Fleming

I worked for the NHS for over 10 years in care while I was raising my children, this has enabled me to have a greater insight into my role as Client Liaison Manager.

I am here to support families and their loved ones in making their decision into their long term care needs. The most rewarding parts of my job are show casing our beautiful home and enabling families and their loved ones to visualise how we can enrich their lives with everything we have to offer her at Signature.

Maintenance Manager

Darron Prince

I started my working career as an apprentice electrician in the hospital industry in South Africa, completing my apprenticeship I was given the opportunity to become the groups maintenance manager for lifecare hospital group. While in the industry I was offered the opportunity to become a logistics manager in the food and beverage industry dealing with major restaurant groups in South Africa, while doing electrical maintenance on weekends, I enjoy fixing broken items and setting challenges to get something broken fixed again. Leaving South Africa at the end of 2019 moving to Cyprus I joined the hotel industry as a maintenance manager for a hotel group. Found myself doing their gardening too in my spare time. Fixing appliances and the challenge in finding the problem was so rewarding, seeing guests faces when a job was completed to their expectations was rewarding. Due to covid restrictions I had no choice but to leave, joining a group of companies leading the market in industrial air conditioner ducting. I moved to the UK in 2022 and was given the opportunity to join signature care home at Caversham as maintenance manager. I enjoy working with people and making them feel special. Nothing Is more rewarding than seeing a smile on a person’s face, knowing you made that happen. Be it a resident a family member or staff member. Looking forward to building many more happy memories.

Danuta Snell

I have been in the housekeeping trade for over 15 years, mostly in the hotel business. I take pride in what I do and am very particular to detail.

This is my first position in a care home and my experience at Signature Caversham over the past several months has been the most rewarding of my career.

We have built a very good team, and each of us enjoy what we do in the housekeeping role, but for me, spending time with the residents and getting to know them is the highlight of my day.
