Introducing the Banstead Team

At Signature, we recruit and train only those who exhibit both great professional potential, and a deep commitment to the values which lie at the heart of our organisation: compassionate, person-centred care which is built around the specific needs and preferences of individual residents.

Because care provision is an expansive and multifaceted field, we also have specialist teams handling other critical areas such as wellbeing and lifestyle, food and beverage, hospitality and more.

Our exceptional team members are the heart of our care home and to fully understand how these dedicated professionals make Banstead what it is, there’s no better option than to meet them in person.

General Manager

Michelle Whitmill

I have worked for Signature Senior Lifestyle for nine years now managing homes in Leicester, Hertford and Hendon before coming to Banstead early in 2025.

I am a qualified nurse who has also worked in intensive care and day surgery before going into care homes.

I really enjoy my job leading a great team of individuals here at Signature at Banstead.  It is also wonderful getting to know the residents and their families.  No day is ever the same and there is always a new challenge popping up which I relish.  I don’t think anyone could find a job that is so varied and keeps you on your toes as much as being a manager in a care home.

Outside of work I have four and a half kids (the husband is the half) and one grandchild which keep me busy.  As a family we really enjoy holidaying in the UK – there is so much to see.  Nothing relaxes me more though than getting under the bonnet of my car, doing an oil change or upgrading brakes – there is always something to do.

Deputy Manager

Christina Webb-Smith

I began my career in care in 2013 at Signature at Banstead as a Care Assistant and have since progressed through senior roles including Reminiscence Coordinator and Dementia Care Manager. For five years, I led our Dementia Community, supporting an exceptional team to deliver purposeful, meaningful activities that promote both mental and physical wellbeing. It is incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact this has on our residents every day.

Since November 2023, I have been Deputy Manager, leading the wider team and supporting the General Manager in all clinical matters. My focus is on ensuring the home operates to the highest standards and delivers exceptional care. I am proud to be part of a stable and dedicated management team and look forward to continuing my journey at Banstead.

Clinical Services Manager

Sumitha Vijayagangadharan

I’m Sumitha, a Clinical Services Manager at Banstead with over 26 years of clinical experience in Acute and nursing home settings, holding qualifications in General, Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Psychiatric, Obstetric and Community nursing. I’ve earned a State Award of Merit in Medical and Surgical Nursing and completed post-graduation in Gerontological Nursing and End of Life care in Ireland. Passionate about elderly care, I’ve worked in India, Malaysia, Ireland, and the UK, specializing in Acute stroke units. My goal is to provide dignified care to elderly residents, ensuring loved ones’ peace of mind. Progressing into management, I now mentor and empower large teams. I feel privileged to work for Signature where the values of the organisation align with my own.

Dementia Care Manager

Rebecca Lee

I began my career with Signature as a Care Assistant in 2015, which was also my first experience of supporting people living with dementia. From the very beginning, I discovered a real passion for dementia care and have progressed through a number of roles including Senior Carer and Care Supervisor, before becoming a Dementia Care Manager.

After gaining valuable experience within another home in the group, I transferred to Signature at Banstead in May 2024 as Dementia Care Manager, where I now oversee both of our dementia communities, Lavender Lane and Bluebells. I manage the operational, people and clinical aspects of the communities, working alongside an exceptional team to deliver compassionate, person-centred care. Supporting residents with meaningful and purposeful activities is at the heart of what we do, helping them to live well and enjoy the very best quality of life.

Client Liaison Manager

Tammy Sirilli

As the Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Banstead, I’m here to support older adults and their families as they explore care options and find the right home for their needs. With a background in hospitality and a passion for building meaningful relationships, I take pride in being the first point of contact, offering clear guidance, answering questions, and showcasing the warmth and vibrancy of our luxury care home in Banstead through personalised tours.

What motivates me most is helping families feel reassured and confident in their decisions, and seeing new residents settle in, make friends, and truly thrive. My combined experience in service and sales helps me connect with people on a personal level while ensuring their move into care is smooth, transparent, and positive. I’m committed to continuously enhancing the experience we offer, always striving to deliver the highest standards of care and support for every resident.

Client Liaison Coordinator

Juliet Ahmet

As the Client Liaison Coordinator at Signature at Banstead, I work closely with Tammy, our Client Liaison Manager, to guide residents and their families through every step of their care journey. From the very first enquiry to the day you move in, my role is to provide clear communication, practical support and a reassuring presence.

With over 10 years’ experience in private healthcare, I understand how emotional and important this decision can be. My focus is on making the transition to our luxury care home in Banstead as smooth and stress-free as possible, so every new resident feels truly at home from the moment they arrive.

Maintenance Manager

Zbigniew “Zeb” Skorzak

I started working with Signature back in 2010 and was working at one home all that time until I transferred to Banstead in 2023. My job gives me so much satisfaction which is why I have been doing it for so long. It involves a lot of compliance issues but I am a very organised person and take these things in my stride. I really enjoy working at Signature at Banstead as the General Manager is very supportive and the team are so friendly and helpful – and everyone helps each other out. My role here primarily is to maintain the condition and look of the building as it is extremely varying. I am also responsible for ensuring that fire regulations are strictly adhered to and regularly run Fire Safety training sessions for staff, both day and night.
