Dementia Care in Hertford
Signature at Bentley House offers a dedicated community for residents living with dementia. As a purpose-built home, we offer a number of dementia-friendly private apartments in a separate community. This helps our residents feel at home, without overstimulation from a large number of residents in the same environment, and enables our specialist dementia care teams to get to know the residents very well and ensure they feel at ease within their own space.
Each suite has been specially designed for those living with dementia. The décor is calm, relaxing and gives a warm family feel. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room bringing items they are familiar with from their own home such as family photos, a favourite chair, dressing table or book shelf, we work with families to ensure that each resident’s room is perfect for them in comfort, design and layout enabling independence. Each studio has its own en-suite wet room with sensor controlled lighting and special wayfinding features as well as a television.

HOW WE CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA
We understand that each resident living with dementia is different. We dedicate time to each resident getting to know each individual on a personal basis from day one, this includes understanding as much as we can about each resident including family life, background, likes dislikes and important life events.
Spending this valuable time with our residents enables us to create a tailored care plan and bespoke activities programme specifically for each individual, making the most of their capabilities and empowering independence. Care plans are updated on a daily basis and adapted as residents’ interests, capabilities and needs change.
As a registered nursing home, we can look after residents throughout their dementia journey. With a dementia care team on-site 24 hours a day, you can have the peace of mind that your loved one has everything they may need all in one place!
We would love to show you how we can help your loved one live positively with dementia. Book a visit here to arrange your personal tour and consultation.
FACILITIES IN OUR COMMUNITIES
With our residents at the forefront of everything that we do, we have ensured that every little detail has been taken into consideration. From easily identifiable rooms to wayfinding, we have ensured that every aspect of the community is accessible and easily understood. We pride ourselves on having a safe and homely environment with plenty of quiet places for our residents to relax and unwind. We make the best use of natural light with floor to ceiling windows throughout the communities to help our residents make sense of their environments. What’s more, residents living within these communities benefit from private access to a beautiful open-plan dining room with a lounge, kitchen, an activities area and outdoor terrace. There is also an accessible spa bathroom. Residents may also wish to visit the main communal areas on the ground floor which include a cinema, café, pub and outdoor gardens.
