As part of our initiative to foster links with the local community we now have 4 students from St George’s College who visit the residents every Thursday afternoon to participate in activities and chat with each other.

One week the students had an informal discussion with some of the residents about their viewpoints on different issues such as climate change, technology and the generational gap.

The students and residents enjoy some friendly competition including snooker and a crossword competition, however today we did a word wheel competition.

They were split into two teams and were given 9 letters in a wheel to create words out of. We did three different word wheels and in the end, it was close but one of the teams became the champions. We enjoyed ourselves and learnt some new words.
