Thursday 6th February is ‘Time to Talk’ Day, a movement to challenge mental health discrimination and encourage us to get talking. 1 in 4 people in the UK are affected by mental health problems and at Elton House we take mental well being very seriously. Making the decision to move into an assisted living environment is huge and for many, there has been a long road that has led here; this is why we feel it is so important to support our residents; not only in their physical wellbeing but also their mental wellbeing. Our enrichment programme encourages socialisation, relaxation and motivation. We are very proud to work alongside Debbie Stewart from Time Out4Me who offers weekly mindfulness sessions and gives our residents a chance to reflect on matters from years gone by as well as the here and now in a safe space, Debbie is also able to offer 1-2-1 support to those who ask for it. Debbie’s weekly sessions are very well received and are making a really positive impact in Elton House.

Thank you, Debbie
