Cliveden Manor waited in anticipation for two alpacas (Enzo & Scally) to come and visit. Unfortunately, they had to cancel when they were first scheduled to visit, due to a virus. Therefore the anticipation grew with residents, visitors and staff! When Enzo and Scally finally arrived, they had a welcoming parade of people outside Cliveden – including our GM Stewart. Even Stewart could not resist getting a photograph of our new furry friends. Followed by a grand welcoming of residents, families and staff in the foyer area. We then went up in the lift – the alpacas are used to this as they visit a variety of different places in the community. We stopped at the first floor, again to a sea of faces waiting in the corridor, library and activities room. Then in the lift again, up to the Willows. We saved the best till last and what a surprise it was for our residents. Enzo & Scally knew when they had been inside for nearly an hour and both started bleating, which is their way of saying it’s time to go! We look forward to having the alpacas visit us again at Cliveden Manor. It was a very memorable and surreal afternoon, as many residents had not seen, been close up to or stroked an alpaca before.
