Rosebery ramblers walk for Children in Need 2018

We were approached by one of our resident ladies to help arrange a fundraising event for Children in Need. She had been deeply saddened & moved to follow the story of Josh, a young boy suffering from Niemann-Pick’s disease type C (NPC) which is nicknamed ‘childhood Alzheimer’s’. We discussed ways we could do some fundraising as a community to help raise awareness & support research for this cruel & debilitating disease. We arranged a sponsored walk in October in our community garden and set a goal of 100 laps in a 2 week time-frame. These laps were achievable as a combined effort & we included residents of all mobility levels. We invited local schools in to join us & accompany those taking part. We named ourselves ‘The Rosebery Ramblers’, it was a fantastic event that encouraged exercise, engagement with the local community & supported a great cause. The donations are still coming in so the grand total raised to be announced.
