At Pembroke we organised a Scare Festival competition in recognition of the ‘Harvest Festival’ period. We had scarecrows made by number of local businesses and organisations, which were displayed around out community. In addition, our residents and staff members built their own scarecrows.
On Friday 12th October, The Mayor of Surrey Heath -Dan Adams, visited Pembroke House. He was very keen to meet our residents, guests, staffs and of course the Scarecrows. It was great as he helped to judge the winner of the competition which was difficult as they all looked great!
The winner for the ‘best scarecrow’ was by ‘Melody for the Mind’ at High Cross Church- Camberley. Very well known for their music sessions for those living with dementia.
We welcomed many people to our community for the scare festival which meant we have amazing treats. The dining team prepared delicious cakes and pastries which was enjoyed by everyone.
We plan to run the same event next year!
