Here at Parklands we are encouraged to help other staff teams to benefit the lives of the residents. Our housekeeping team embody this philosophy as they are always going the extra mile when it comes to joining in and dressing up for the residents.

We are leading a new approach to Dementia Care using the Montessori philosophy which involves encouraging meaningful and purposeful activity and the housekeeping team have made a washing station on our dementia floor the Meadows for our residents to wash, iron, and fold clothes and socks.

Many residents find this stimulating as they enjoyed being housewives and this replicates what they used to do.

The washing station includes a washing machine using a cat flap, an ironing board, hoover, dustpan and brush and washing line.

We are grateful for this and the housekeeping team have more plans to make more activity stations.
