The gardening team that looks after the grounds at Parklands have installed four new raised beds outside the French doors of the dining room. Residents can now enjoy the view of the beautiful flowers as they are having their meals. The height of these raised beds means residents can water and weed with ease if they so wish to. The raised bed is also wheelchair height for accessibility.
We now have a shop cabinet where residents can peruse for toiletries and crisps and sweets. This is particularly important for residents who are not as able to go out to the shops regularly.
We now have started monthly church services where members of St Peter’s Church in Chertsey have been coming along and performing a service of prayer and hymns for the residents. This has been appreciated by the residents as it is an accessible means of attending a church service.
Lately we have been thoroughly enjoying Activity Manager Ana’s quizzes! Staff and residents make up teams and compete against each other in general knowledge quizzes. It can get very competitive!
We have also been enjoying balloon tennis as part of our OOMPH exercise.
