(see notes above) We had the privilege of being joined by Air Vice Marshall Peter Rochelle who gave us a fascinating talk about his life and career in the Air Forces. He retold stories, gave a presentation with lots of pictures of new aircraft, and showed us his various uniforms.
He then went on to talk about the future of the RAF and different technology. At the end residents asked questions and everyone got to have a look at the different things he had brought with him. One of our residents Audrey was brave enough to try on his helmet which was very heavy.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed the evening and were talking about it for weeks afterwards. For many residents the RAF had a special place in their hearts whether it was from doing National Service with the RAF, or being in the WAF.
