Last week, a staff member had an idea in which every department would decorate a plastic yellow duck.
We happened to have a surplus of plastic ducks, as they were going to be put in the pond. Every department took the competition very seriously and adorned their ducks with tissue paper, gems, paint and other props.
Some departments made cardboard backgrounds for their ducks to sit on to really set the scene. Even some of the residents have been getting involved and decorating their own.
The kitchen team used their culinary skills to come up with an inventive way of decorating their duck. They filled the plastic duck with chocolate, let it set in the fridge and then cut the plastic out around the duck so they had a chocolate shaped duck!
The ducks are now displayed in the reception and are a great conversation starter with visitors.
