At Parklands Manor many of our residents enjoy the sport of horse racing. Whether it’s watching the races from the side-lines or even betting on a horse or two, we couldn’t wait for Ascot to start.
In preparation during a craft session, residents helped make their very own tissue paper fascinators. Everyone could choose the colour they wanted.
When the day came around we had Ascot on in the cinema and in the lounge and in the afternoon, we enjoyed Mary Gorniak playing her flute and piccolo. Everyone wore their fascinators with pride. Some of the gentlemen even wore their summer hats. After the flautist the kitchen provided us with delicious afternoon tea treats. There were macaroons, chocolate eclairs, scones, cream and jam and strawberries. We all really enjoyed the afternoon.
