Ron's Trip back to Brooklands

Our trip to Brooklands was back down `memory lane’ for one of our residents. Ron had started his career, working what was the BAC (which later became British Aerospace) when he worked on the Concorde programme, and the BAC1-11 aircraft.
Ron’s family could remember going to pick him up from work at Brooklands, so when the family saw we were organising a trip there, they asked if Ron could go. The Activities Team at Moorlands contacted Brooklands and asked whether it was possible for a member of the Concorde experience to spend some time with our resident.
As Ron was not able to go onto the Concorde, they went above and beyond to ensure he was able to go onto the Concorde Simulator with his son Tim and grandson.
The Concorde team spent time with Ron talking about his experience in those early days and sharing their own experiences.
It was great that Brooklands were able to accommodate Ron and his family, especially as they are only here for a short time from New Zealand.
It was definitely a memorable occasion for all.
