We thoroughly enjoy discussing different topics and learning more about history, events and things of interest.

With two residents who are engineers we wanted to delve into the subject of constructing dams and we then thought it would be interesting to also discuss ‘how to blow up a dam’ and learn about the bouncing bomb that Barnes Wallis invented and all about the night that 617 squadron successfully blew up the Mohn and Edersee dams during the Second World War.

What made the talk even better was having a question and answer session with one of our fellow residents Jim who worked on two English dams and then a family member of one of the activity team who was the boss of the Dambusters from 2005 – 2007 and knows a lot about the squadron’s history.

Whether political, historical, cultural, scientific or environmental we will discuss it!
