At Coombe we had a special Easter celebration!
We had six special eggs delivered to us to look after on Monday. On Tuesday afternoon, we were knitting and nattering and then suddenly there was movement! We gathered around to watch our first duckling hatch! By Wednesday, we had five ducklings hatched and fluffy.
On Saturday, the very last egg managed to hatch but there was a problem, he was stuck to the dried egg and was in distress! Lisa Maria had to take him home in the incubator to make sure he had a chance to survive. For two nights she cared for him and then on eventually she introduced him to his brothers. They accepted him and they all lived happily ever after back on the farm!
The staff and residents had a wonderful 10 days with the ducklings and very much enjoyed swimming them.
They were a joy to have with us!
