Convalescent Care at Signature

In Association with Spire Healthcare

Spire Healthcare, one of the UK’s leading independent hospital groups, has partnered with Signature Senior Lifestyle to support their patients with their convalescence and rehabilitation once they have been discharged from hospital, following an operation or procedure.

In Signature’s luxurious surroundings, residents receive 24 hour support accompanied by quality dining and nutrition, extensive daily activities programmes and wellbeing facilities such as hair salon, therapy rooms and spa bathrooms.

Signature is here to help you increase strength and restore mobility after illness or surgery. Residents will be cared for in a home-from-home environment with a friendly care team, in a luxury rehabilitation suite with full access to in-home amenities and nutritionally balanced food.

Care & rehabilitation bespoke to your needs

Our aim is to make your rehabilitation and convalescence as stress free as possible. Our team of care professionals will liaise with your healthcare team at Spire to conduct an individual holistic assessment to establish your requirements.

This allows us to understand, in detail, your full care needs as well as your preferences, likes and dislikes before you join us in the home. This detailed assessment allows us to have everything ready ahead of your arrival, aiding a hassle free transfer from hospital.

Care available around the clock

You may be unsure of the level of nursing care you will require post operation. As a registered nursing home we have a number of nurses on site 24 hours a day, with a wealth of specialisms. This allows us to provide care that is responsive to changing needs.

Under the supervision of our General Manager and Clinical Services Manager, our nurses will monitor your health with daily observations and samples where necessary. We can also support with, or manage, any medications or wounds with dressings. Our care team can also support with stitch or staple removal as required. This is in addition to the weekly visits from a local GP.

Liaising with your existing health care team

As a result of our existing relationship with Spire we have a direct line to your surgeon, consultant and wider healthcare team should we need to contact the team or provide any updates. This also supports the ease of transfer from hospital.

I was trying to arrange convalescent care so that my client could be discharged from the hospital. I was extremely impressed when I first visited Signature just before Christmas, and my client was discharged to Signature on Christmas Eve. After four weeks of convalescent care, that initial impression has been confirmed, and we have just completed a move from respite care to a permanent room as my client has for now decided to reside permanently at Signature.
The care my client has received is second to none, the food is exceptional, and the all-round ambience is more like a five-star hotel than a care home. Signature is quite simply the best care home I have seen in over 30-years of practice as a lawyer, and I would recommend it without hesitation.”

Our team

Unlike many other care providers, we have separate housekeeping, activities, wellbeing, food and beverage teams. This means that our carers can do what they do best, care. Our care team is on hand day and night to support with any personal care needs such as washing and dressing.

Visitors are always welcome

Our doors are always open. Unlike hospital settings we don’t have visiting hours. Your friends and family are welcome to come and go as you please. Our friendly reception team will be on hand during the day with an on-duty manager throughout the night to support with any of your needs.

“My husband spent a few days in convalescent care. It was his first time away from me since becoming unwell, and we were both apprehensive as he has complex needs. The staff were extremely caring and understanding and made him feel very welcome. He settled quickly, and therefore, this allowed me to have a break away with no worries. We both feel happy for him to stay in the future on a regular basis.”

“I have been so surprised by how friendly and helpful every member of staff has been, without exception. Originally my Dad was only staying for a couple of weeks, but he likes it so much is asked to stay there for good. My Dad said it’s like staying in a five-star hotel but with better service.”
