Tomek Szkutnik

Deputy Manager

I joined Signature at Beaconsfield in 2017 but have been directly involved in care work since 2003. My path through the care industry has led me on the journey that has enabled me to work in award winning homes. I love bringing people together, sharing light-hearted ‘banter’ and ensuring every team I work with, are highly motivated in order to provide the best possible care. Working in care can be demanding yet very rewarding at the same time. Supporting and developing the right people, makes it all the more enjoyable. I am thrilled and excited to be part of the team at Sunrise and I look forward to long lasting career.

Laura Bather

Director of Community Relations

I joined Signature at Beaconsfield earlier this year after a lifetime of working in hotel sales and it was the best decision I have ever made. My role is to market our home, welcome and help new residents settle into the community and support their family members during this process.

From my short time of being here I have seen such special friendships formed, our team have a real bond with residents and treat residents how they would like their own families to be treated. Since I arrived at the home, I have had the pleasure of welcoming lots of new residents and it’s a joy to watch them flourish and settle into their new environment.

Every day is different, there is always something going on in the home that keeps our residents entertained. Whether that be live music playing, trips out on our minibus or our residents getting competitive at one of our quiz nights. Making a significant decision to move to a new home is made easy when we have a beautiful product, lovely food, great activities programme and caring staff, all coupled with happy appreciative residents and family members.

Karen McLean

Assisted Living Co-ordinator

I work with a fantastic team of carers that look after our residents whom enjoy a luxurious assisted living lifestyle. We have some true characters in our community and the carers genuinely care and treat each and every resident like a family member.

Upon arriving at Signature at Beaconsfield, whether it be for respite or long term, we recognise that it can be daunting. To ensure a smooth, relaxing welcome, a carefully matched carer is allocated on arrival to help ease any concerns and nerves. We take the time to learn about our residents lives and work alongside our activities team to create clubs and events within the community to ensure our residents are stimulated and enjoying the best possible life.

We are dog friendly and occasionally my senior canine companion Flo comes in to see our residents.

Lisa Pitchford

Reminiscence Co-ordinator

Working in Reminiscence as the Co-ordinator is the most rewarding role I could wish for, we are one big happy family! The staff have really pulled together, even more than usual over the last two challenging years. It really is a pleasure to supervise the Reminiscence neighbourhood and watch my team create such special bonds with the residents, we all truly care about the residents and their families.

I was previously and Activities Co-ordinator and now work closely with Megan to tailor make activities and entertainment so that our residents are physically and mentally stimulated, ensuring the best possible lifestyle.

Kirsty French

Activities Coordinator

I am so excited to have recently joined the team here at Signature at Beaconsfield: my role is to provide our residents with an engaging, educational and human orientated activities programme along with the support of my talented and dedicated activities team and volunteers.

Prior to joining the team, I spent 7 years working in Social Care as a Support Worker and Community Coordinator along with working within the Education sector as a Lecturer and Training Mentor. I am a real people’s person and have enjoyed getting to know our residents and learning about their lives and interests which enables me to plan and facilitate activities tailored to everyone.

Nothing is more rewarding than to see the residents enjoy themselves, have fun and create special memories with them and their families. Each day is different due to the various activities on offer, however we also appreciate that group activities aren’t for everyone so also engage with our residents on an individual basis, whether that be enjoying tea and cakes together, playing cards or a walk around the gardens. There really is as an activity for everyone here!

Angelika Bryndzej

Business Office Co-ordinator

I have not worked in the care industry before but I am quickly seeing why it’s such a rewarding environment to work in.

I love getting to know all the residents and their families. I have worked in HR/Payroll Administration my whole professional career so I am really looking forward to further develop my skills with Signature.

Paula Hopkinson

Hotel Services Manager

I started working for the home at Beaconsfield in 2009 as the Dining Services Co-ordinator. As each resident’s nutritional needs are unique, we work together to provide exactly what every individual requires and tailor as much as we can, to what they specifically want. We focus on fresh ingredients, variety and choice as our main priorities. I became Hotel Services Manager in June 2019, then taking leadership of the kitchen, dining, housekeeping, maintenance and concierge. I am extremely proud of how my teams individually take pride in everything they do for the residents, from making sure they have the outfit pressed for an important family gathering to putting a picture hook up for them. We ensure even the little things that mean so much to each resident are catered for.

Andy Keen

Maintenance Co-ordinator

I have worked at many of our communities and really enjoy maintaining the high standards that our residents and their families expect. My role covers many aspects including the safety of our residents, the appearance internally & externally, ambience of our garden and general maintenance. When new residents arrive, I ensure their rooms are beautifully decorated and should you wish for pictures to be put up to create a more homely feel, I’m your man!
