My vision for Signature at Barnet is to create a home so our residents can enjoy their later lives by supporting their independence and wellbeing whilst providing the highest quality care and luxury services and facilities.

I bring extensive experience to Barnet gained from a successful career delivering results across the hotel, leisure, retirement living and property sectors. Highlights to date have been commissioning and opening retirement living communities in the UK and managing hotels and teams with a global hotel company. My passion is and always has been to deliver outstanding customer experiences, facilities and services, leading by example and through high performing, empathetic, caring teams.

I feel privileged to be opening and developing our community, Signature at Barnet, as I have personal experience of loved ones who have required support and care in the past. I am looking forward to making a positive difference to our residents and their families wellbeing, health and happiness.

Client Liaison Manager

I am thrilled to work as a Client Liaison Manager at Signature Barnet opening in Winter 2021.

I have a wealth of sales, marketing and customer service experience having worked in the hospitality industry and luxury hotels for four years and nine years of other working experience in a sales and customer centric roles.

I am passionate about helping our prospective residents in their search for care and building caring relationships. I really want to make a positive difference to the lives of each of our residents by ensuring residents can maintain an independent lifestyle just like they would in, their own homes.

My role at Signature at Barnet involves meeting and speaking to prospective residents and their families at the initial enquiry stage, guiding them throughout their journey of selecting the right home, giving advice and support during their move in journey.

I am extremely proud and privileged to be part of the Signature family. I was attracted to the organisation’s ethos and values, where we have a real focus to provide exceptional care delivered by exceptional people in the highest quality of homes. I look forward to welcoming you into our home soon.

Swapnil Shinde

Hospitality Manager

In my role of Hospitality manager, I will be managing an engaged and dedicated team to deliver luxury Hospitality throughout the home to our residents and their families. I am committed to delivering the highest standards of service and satisfaction. I’m adept at managing large teams and appreciate the importance of consistency.

Prior to joining Signature at Barnet, I worked for Signature Wimbledon and Wandsworth.

Previously I worked in the hotel industry at The Metropolitan Hotel, Park Lane in London. I have a post graduate qualification in Hospitality Management, and I believe I bring passion, creativity, and style to my role.

Coming to a care home environment was initially challenging but offered tremendous satisfaction and opportunities and I was confident that I could improve the quality of our residents’ lives with my track record gained working in luxury environments.

Vanessa Hale

People Services Manager

I joined Signature at Barnet in July 2021 and in October 2021, I was thrilled to be promoted to a dual role as the People Services Manager for both homes at Barnet and Hendon Hall. I have been made to feel very welcome by the respective Signature teams and greater company.

I have worked in the Care Sector for over 5 years in various employee management and HR roles having previously worked 16 years for Hertfordshire Constabulary.

Being part of two new home openings is very exciting and as the People Services Manager, I will be here for all our staff on-boarding and training and will strive for a positive and encouraging working environment. I value all our staff and believe in an open-door policy.

I am very proud to work for a company that provides exceptional care and luxury living for residents and am really looking forward to the opening of both of these beautiful homes and building two fantastic new teams that will ensure our residents receive the best care.

Care Services Manager

I started my journey with Signature at Barnet in September 2021 as Clinical Service Manager. My nursing career started in 2010, gaining experience from different roles that I had in management in private healthcare sector. I have found my passion in working with elderly and providing excellent services and care, which enables and empowers people to have the best quality of life. Having the opportunity to work as part of Signature team it gives me the opportunity to strive for excellence by putting in practice the skills and knowledge gained in care, over the years.

I am extremely privileged to be part of Signature at Barnet project and I am looking forward for the opening of the home.

Alexandra Ellwood

Residential Care Manager

My journey into the Health and Social care setting started after obtaining a First Degree Honors in Art and Design at Loughborough University, I made the choice to defer my career to care for my Grandfather, which transpired to be my other passion in life.

I have worked in the Care sector since 2009 and progressed to Deputy Home Manager position and also trusted and trained as Home Manager taking sole responsibility for the Home in the Home Managers absence. This has given me a great understanding to achieve the highest quality standards with the residents being at the heart of everything I do and I have a great appreciation for the responsibilities that have been entrusted to me.

My passion, dedication and determination for believing everyone should be treated as I would like my own family member to be treated is what has driven me to this position. As Residential Care Manager at Signature, my role involves being responsible for the delivery of residential care for all residents, ensuring a person centered approach and maintaining their wellbeing. I am proud to work for such a prestigious company.

I thrive to support others and my greatest achievement in life is being able to look back on my career and be proud of the individuals I have helped, as I believe it’s not the days in your life that are important, but the lives within your day that matter most.

Maintenance Manager

It is an honour and a privilege to be opening my second new build home for Signature since I joined the company in 2018. I am so looking forward to welcoming and keeping safe our residents in their home. I thoroughly enjoy my job role within Signature, and I have won a national UK care award in 2019. This was one of the proudest moments of my life so far, which will stay with me forever more. I have previously worked many years in the hospitality industry, working my way up from head grounds keeper, all the way up to chief engineer. I totally enjoyed and embraced my time within the industry, but I knew from the start of my employment at Signature, that the care industry was where my true future heads”
