Dementia Care Manager
Dementia Care Manager
Before joining Signature, I had worked in the health care sector for over 15 years.
Within this time, I have developed my skills in leadership and management and really enjoy working within the care sector because of the genuine passion I have to care for the wonder that is our elderly generation.
I do believe that all of our residents deserve nothing but the best. As Dementia Care Manager at Signature Elton House it is my responsibility to ensure that our Residents are delivered the highest standards of person-centred care and that they are supported to live a fulfilling and happy life whilst living with Dementia.
Nurse Care Manager
Nurse Care Manager
I started by career in nursing at one of the top nursing schools in the world, developing clinical experience in both the public and private healthcare sector.
I have worked for Signature as a Staff Nurse before progressing into the role of a Nurse Care Manager. I believe that the vision and mission set out by Signature are very much in line with own personal values, as I firmly consider delivering peace of mind to all parties is truly important.
Everyone at Signature Elton House has the right to receive truly exceptional, individualised healthcare and I believe that my values and work ethic will ensure that this is delivered through my nursing team.
My care journey started out in ‘Live in Care’ during which time I qualified with a Health and Social Care Management NVQ Level 5.
My approach as the Activities Manager is to support the Residents through knowing and understanding each person’s uniqueness and what activities have the most meaning and enjoyment for them.
My team and I follow the latest research and implement this when providing activities to ensure we focus on our Residents physical, cognitive, social, esteem and emotional stimulation, and most importantly their enjoyment.
Our Residents can make lasting friendships in our homes and enjoy a good giggle together during our activities!
I consider helping to open and working at Elton House a true honour and privilege.
I have previously worked in the hospitality industry, where I gathered my knowledge of systems and compliance. I am a very caring and hardworking person, who will give 100% on a daily basis to ensure that our Residents are in a safe and compliant environment. As part of a superb team at Elton house, we have a shared ambition and aim to be the best at what we do.
I have been in the food industry for 37 years. I started as a commis chef in London in December 1981 and worked my way through the ranks at different establishments gaining knowledge along the way and meeting many talented people. My experiences come from hotels, healthcare, fine dining and large-scale contract catering.
I look forward to providing an outstanding service to Elton House Residents.
Having worked in the care industry for the last 2 years, I can honestly say that I have found a career that I feel very passionate about and am very excited to work in the fantastic team at Elton House.
My role is to provide administrative support to our Care Managers. This involves co-ordination of the nursing and staff rotas, liaising with GP practises and hospitals regarding Resident admissions and discharge and leading our Reception team.
My aim is to build a strong caring relationship with our Residents so that they feel they can approach me with any concerns or questions they may have.
I am also the ‘Dignity Champion’ for the home which means I will be monitoring and supporting our Residents and Staff to ensure that compassion, dignity and respect are shown at all times.
I have 2 children aged 5 and 2 and a very supportive partner of 11 years. When not at work we like to visit local beaches and spend time with family.
I have worked in the service industry for over 8 years in a variety of roles from First-Class Cabin Crew at British Airways to progressing into Food and Beverage management in 4 and 5-star Properties.
I am a highly self-motivated and person centric individual with a passion for delivering excellence and a strong belief in putting residents at the heart of all that I do.
Evidenced throughout my career, I have developed a reputation as a role model who is highly enthusiastic, caring, motivational and with a passion for success.
I strive for excellence and it is amazing to be part of such a forward-thinking diverse team of individuals looking to deliver outstanding care and service.
I love my job and each day coming into Elton House is an absolute pleasure.
I have 5 years experience within the care industry as Head of Financial Administration.
I began my working career as a Dry Cleaner and have also worked as a cleaner in industries ranging from construction through to sparkle cleans for luxury homes. I and am well versed in all aspects of cleaning properties and our team ensure that by the time our Residents move in everything is exactly as they would expect in their sparkling new home.
I aim to incorporate these high standards into Elton House and building fantastic relationships with all the residents.
I’ve been in the care sector for 22 years. The joy of meeting new families and making a positive contribution to the lives of each and every one of our Residents is truly rewarding.
Each Resident is special and unique to all of us and I strive to ensure their lives are fulfilled to the best of their abilities. I have the honour of leading a fabulous and compassionate team of carers with many years experience. I feel very blessed being part of the Signature family and I am confident that we are able to make such a difference in crucial moments of an individual’s journey, whether it’s a lifestyle choice or a care need.
My experience has taken me on a training pathway with medication and manual handling and I am looking forward to being the internal trainer for Elton house.
Care Services Manager
Care Services Manager
I am an Registered General Nurse with around 30 years’ experience in the NHS and Independent sectors, across hospitals and community settings within the UK and Europe. I believe in assisting others to be the best they can be, so they feel empowered to achieve their own goals.
Uniquely I have multiple qualifications and skill sets across years of nursing, operational and corporate group settings including adult general nursing, cardiothoracic, cardiology and cardiovascular prevention as well as being a Practitioner in Programme, Project and Change Management. These areas of expertise have enabled me to change, develop and innovate a series of new programmes whilst managing and leading teams to transform varying innovative areas of practice. This practice has been beneficial to patients, loved ones, staff, organisations and Trusts and has provided increased care provision, efficiency, effectiveness plus support, guidance and peace of mind for all involved, whilst maintaining patient’s dignity, respect and informed choice.
These skill sets have also enabled me to support, guide, mentor and coach teams across a wide operational, clinical and corporate umbrella as well as develop new independent skills. I have also seized the opportunity to write a paper on some of the challenges and result findings whilst working at The Oxford University Hospital on the ‘Out of Hours’ care provisions. This explained the necessary changes I made regarding staffing levels, patient care and building multidisciplinary handover practices within The International Journal of Health and Quality 2017.
I am looking forward to assisting with building and supporting a responsive team of individuals, which enables Elton House to remain an effective caring and unique home environment. I believe this will encourage the local community to be part of its development, in which residents, their loved ones and staff feel safe and secure, and have peace of mind in which to grow older and older.
