Lisa is originally from Newcastle and moved “down south” 18 years ago.
She has a 21-year-old son, Drew, who is currently studying in Canada to be an aircraft engineer.
In her spare time, she loves listening to all types of music and spending time in the outdoors. In particular, taking long walks in the countryside.
She qualified as a registered nurse 11 years ago and started her career at Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford, spending most of her time in the Acute Surgical and Medical department.
She quickly realised the best part of her job was the time she spent with older people and how she enjoyed hearing their stories of bygone times.
Lisa realised that she wanted to influence people’s quality of life rather than “patch them up and send them on their way”. She then started working in a care home, specialising in people living with dementia.
Always looking for a new challenge, Lisa then moved to Chelmsford Prison as the Clinical Nurse Manager, home to 750 prisoners where she stayed for 6 years.
But Lisa decided to return to where her heart lies: in elderly care at Bentley House
