Beaconsfield Town Crier

Mr. Dick Smith – Beaconsfield Town Crier visited Cliveden and told many of his wonderful stories. He has been the Town Crier for the last 49 years and has such a wealth of experience and knowledge about this important role. One of his most memorable moments was from the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, when Dick made the Queen jump out of her seat from his very loud cry and her response being ‘where does one find a man with a voice that loud?’

Dick rang his very loud bell, for all of Cliveden Manor to hear! Residents asked many questions after the talk and have invited Dick Smith back later in the year and are awaiting more stories.
