National Hydration and Nutrition Week

13th – 19th March 2023

This week Signature care homes are taking part in nutrition and hydration week. There will be a hydration station in every home to provide unlimited water based, healthy fruity drinks. Health and wellbeing contributes to a better immune system.

The goal of Nutrition and Hydration Week is to help carers prevent malnutrition and dehydration which further promotes health and well-being. Efforts like healthy smoothie recipes or thirst quenching juices with fresh fruit and cool cucumbers were a part of the event too.

As we get older, we may find it more difficult to maintain a healthy weight, which can have a big impact on our wellbeing. being aware of the signs to look out for, and thinking about what may be getting in the way of eating and drinking well will help everyone to stay healthy and independent.
