Ellie Faramarzian, Clinical Services Manager
My background of leading a team as a home manager which achieved an outstanding rating with CQC makes me well placed as the CSM at Wandsworth.
Our vision is to achieve outstanding in our first inspection, starting by recruiting the right people, clinical and care values led, compassionate, leading by example and giving clear vision of where we are going and what we are aiming to achieve.
We will support our residents to express their views and be involved in making decisions about their care and engagement of people and relatives in the care journey will be constantly promoted. We will demonstrate our achievements with our evidence-based inspection files as well as additional evidence of exceeding expectations through photographs, testimonies and gathering feedback from our residents, relatives and external parties.
Technology will be embraced widely to provide the best possible care for people. This includes the use of iPads, computers, smart TVs and Amazon’s Alexa interface to make our residents as independent as possible and enabling staff to spend more quality time with them. Our electronic care planning system known as MCM helps us to develop person centred care plans affording residents’ choice and control in their day to day lives.
My main focus will be on residents and providing holistic care by having visible leadership on the floor, understanding quality performance, risks and regulatory requirements. Evidence from the quality and governance checks will be used to drive improvement at the service and frequent measurements of performance enabling us to recognize any need for improvement and make changes as required.
Continuous learning and improving care are the heart of everything we do at Wandsworth. We have subject–focused workshops planned for staff on a regular basis with flexible topics based on team’s need. We support our registered nurses with their CPD training and their revalidation by providing both clinical and non-clinical training, coaching, workshops and personal development plan to enable career progression looking for next leaders.
Personal experience of having both my parents in care homes would help me to look at things from residents and relatives’ point of view and share my experience with the team to ensure we achieve the best possible outcome.
