On Friday 24th March, the entire South Lodge community took part in the annual NAPA (National Activity Providers Association) Challenge, whereby we were invited to sing the song Sing, by The Carpenters.
Not only did we have a community sing along, but we also invited local choirs to come and join us and perform during this event. The Oadby Parkinson’s choir and the Wigston Sing for Fun Community Choir both took to the stage and also local magician, Adamos, provided some fantastic entertainment.
The Mayor of Oadby and Wigston also came along with his wife for the afternoon. The event was rounded off with a rendition of Red Nose Day’s “Is this the way to Amarillo?” and there were many people up on their feet singing and dancing away.
This event was in conjunction with Red Nose Day, so whilst everyone was having a lovely time we also managed to raise a super £100 for this amazing charity. We had staff wearing red, and some wore silly outfits or head pieces.
There were around 100 people, both from the South Lodge community and our local community that gathered together for this wonderful occasion.
Everyone left with a smile on their face and a spring in their step!
