The residents, staff and visitors of The Miramar enjoyed a Christmas Winter Wonderland on Friday 9th December. The reception area was transformed into a market for the afternoon drawing in the residents and visitors with an array of products. The stalls were open until 5pm and items for sale varied from clothes, jewellery, handbags, scarfs, Christmas cards and wrapping paper, bath luxuries, The local village chemist also had a stall selling gift sets and toiletries as well as our frequent visitor Lindsay with dog Sam from Canine Partners(training assistance dogs to transform the lives of people with disabilities) The residents strolled around the stalls, chatting to the stall holders and buying Christmas gifts for their loved ones. After supper staff from The Miramar sang carols for the residents, music played by Jon Beetham (a regular entertainer) The ever popular boys from Unique Duo sang for an hour afterwards, great fun for the residents who have the opportunity to join in. At 8pm the staff awards night commenced with General Manager Darren Humby presenting staff and volunteer awards. The evening concluded with a staff Christmas party along with a buffet and drinks. A great day had by all.
