Raising dementia awareness
13th March 2010
Twelve of the Loxley Park team have signed up with Sheffield College for a distance-learning course in dementia awareness, demonstrating their commitment and support to the needs of some of our residents.
As well as this, General Manager Joanne Lindley and Care Manager Angela Moor are enrolled at the University of Bradford on a dementia mapping course.
Dementia mapping is based on the philosophy of person centered care, which promotes a holistic approach to care that upholds the personhood of the person with dementia.
Angela has also successfully completed her Registered Managers Award. The Registered Managers SVQ level 4 programme is a qualification for managers in the care sector who want to offer improved service to their customers and clients.
The qualification is based on standards of performance, and candidates are required to demonstrate achieved competencies in accordance with national standards.
